Questions, answered

The things people ask us most, about pricing, visits, remote help and staying safe. Cannot see yours? Just give us a call.

Pricing and payment

+ How much does IT support cost?
On-site support is £50 per hour, charged for a minimum of one hour and then by the hour after that. A travel fee applies to each on-site visit depending on distance, starting from £10. Remote support is £40 per hour UK-wide with no travel fee. Wherever we can, we give you an estimate of the likely time and cost before we start.
+ Is there a minimum charge?
Yes. We charge for a minimum of one hour and then by the hour after that. Where we can, we will estimate the likely time up front, based on what you tell us about the problem, so you have a good idea of the total cost before we begin.
+ How is the travel fee worked out?
The travel fee covers coming out to you and depends on how far you are from us, from £10 for the closest areas up to £50 at the edge of our patch. It applies to each on-site visit. You can get an instant estimate by entering your postcode into the travel fee estimator on our pricing and service area pages.
+ How do I pay?
You can pay by bank transfer, card payment in person, an online payment link we email to you, or cash. Business clients can be invoiced. We always talk through the cost before starting.
+ What if it cannot be fixed?
If we genuinely cannot solve something we will tell you honestly, only charge for the time spent, and point you toward the best next step.

Visits, areas and booking

+ Do you come to my home?
Yes. We cover Aberdeen and the surrounding towns and villages, so we come to your home or business. No need to unplug your computer and carry it to a shop.
+ What areas do you cover?
Aberdeen City and the surrounding towns and villages, including Bridge of Don, Dyce, Westhill, Cults, Peterculter, Kingswells, Bucksburn, Milltimber, Garthdee, Cove Bay, Portlethen, Stonehaven, Ellon, Banchory, Inverurie, Kintore, Newmachar, Balmedie and Blackburn. Remote support is available across the UK.
+ How do I book an appointment?
Call or WhatsApp us on 07503 668009, book online through our booking page, or send a message using the contact form and we will get back to you the same day. We will confirm a time that suits you, including evenings and weekends.
+ Do you offer evening and weekend appointments?
Yes. Tech problems do not keep office hours, so we offer flexible times that fit around work and family, including evenings and weekends.
+ How quickly can you come out?
It depends on the day, but we often manage same-week and sometimes same-day visits. For urgent software issues we can usually start remotely straight away.

Common problems we fix

+ Can you fix a slow computer, or is it better to replace it?
Often a tune-up and a solid state drive make an old computer feel years younger for far less than a new one. We give you an honest view on whether it is worth it.
+ Do you remove viruses and malware?
Yes. We remove viruses, malware and dodgy pop-ups, check nothing has been left behind, and set up sensible protection so it is less likely to happen again.
+ Can you fix my Wi-Fi or broadband?
Yes, Wi-Fi dead spots and drop-outs are one of our most common jobs. We test the signal room by room and set up better placement or a mesh system so it reaches the whole home.
+ Can you set up a new laptop or PC?
Yes. We set up new computers properly, including updates, email, your printer and moving files across from your old device, with a friendly walkthrough so you are comfortable using it.
+ Can you help set up or fix a printer?
Yes. Printers are a regular call-out. We connect them to your Wi-Fi and devices, sort driver and connection problems, and make sure they print reliably.
+ Can you recover lost files or photos?
Often, yes. If a drive is failing or files have been deleted we can attempt recovery, and the sooner you stop using the device the better the chances. We will always be honest about what is realistic.

How we help

+ Do you help people who are not confident with technology?
Absolutely, it is a big part of what we do. We are patient, we never talk down to you, and we explain everything in plain English so you feel more confident.
+ How does remote support work and is it safe?
We send a simple one-time link, you give permission, and we can see your screen to help. You stay in control and can end the session any time. We never ask for bank details or passwords.
+ I think I have been scammed, can you help?
Yes. Do not pay anything more and do not let anyone stay connected to your computer. Turn it off and call us. We will check the machine, remove any remote access and help secure your accounts.
+ Do you support Windows PCs and Apple Macs?
We primarily support Windows PCs and laptops, which is what most of our customers use. We do not officially support Apple Macs, but we are happy to attempt to help where we can, and we can also assist with everyday problems on iPads, iPhones and Android phones and tablets.
+ Do you provide IT support for small businesses?
Yes. We support small businesses and home offices with networks, business email, printers, backups and keeping devices secure, on-site or remotely.
